Through its network of companies, research centres, laboratories, institutions, and technical partners, DTA supports selected startups with the expertise and ecosystem needed to develop, validate, and prepare space-connected solutions for market adoption.

Established in 2009, DTA has built this capability through applied research, technology transfer, and high-value engineering services, continuously expanding the opportunities available to the aerospace ecosystem. For startups, this translates into concrete support that spans from access to testing facilities that reduce technological risk, to expert guidance that accelerates validation from early TRL stages to market-ready solutions.

The first and only ESA Business Incubation Centre in Southern Italy
Launched in 2023 at the Cittadella della Ricerca in Brindisi and managed by DTA, it forms part of ESA's European network of business incubation centres, bringing together ESA's international incubation programme, DTA's technical expertise and industrial network, and the region's aerospace capabilities.
The centre supports early-stage companies building space-related technologies, downstream applications, and business models connected to the space economy — guiding them from early-stage innovation to scalable, investment-ready ventures within a specialised ecosystem.
ESA BIC Brindisi is managed by a Team of Professionals with Experience in Aerospace, Innovation, and Startup Support.
